I saw a very pretty crocheted pillow here and decided I wanted one too. The only problem was that my finger has been swollen for a few months now and I was giving it a much needed rest from any type of needlework. So what's a girl to do? I ended up whining to Kaleigh and asked her if she could make me one similar to the one I saw. Did she do a great job, or what? She came up with her own pattern, including the single-crocheted back, and used stash yarn. I love my new pillow!

Gravy Train and Crocheted Slippers
The Gravy Train is Back! Yes, we're celebrating as my husband is back to work! After fourteen months of unemployment, his old work called him back. We thought a cake and balloons were in order. Let the partaaaay begin! We've been surely blessed the past year and God provided for all our needs. God is good!
Kaleigh found the pattern for these little slippers free on the net. I think she found it in Ravelary. Aren't they cute? She made them for a friend's birthday.
I'm not much of a crocheter, myself but she held my hand and guided me through.
Both pairs are for Jen, Kyle's girlfriend. She likes pink so we thought both pairs would be perfect for her. I think they'll keep her tootsies nice and cozy.

Cute Cat Outfit and Christmas Projects
Kaleigh found this adorable pattern on Ravelery. It's a Candy Corn Cat Sweater. She crocheted it in one evening and put it on her cat. Doesn't Ginger look cute?
I've begun working on Christmas gifts. This year, seeing I'm hanging on to every penny I can, I thought I would make things using what I have. Usually, I see something for someone and go buy whatever I need to make it... even though I could probably improvise with what I already have. So this is a new exercise for me. This first gift is for Corey's and Kyle's girlfriends. I got them each two body washes from Body and Bath, made a drawstring bag and two knitted washcloths each. I only have one gift set photographed as the other is the exact same thing, just a deeper blue washcloth.
During the next few weeks I'll continue to make gifts and show them as I go.
