New Front Door!

Our old front door was terribly outdated... it screamed 1976. After looking tirelessly at front doors; both on the street and in the store, I finally decided that I wanted a full window front door with panes and a full window storm door. This one was white and I painted it a beautiful bluish green, called Majestic Blue by Benjamin Moore. We bought the new door hardware at Lowes.
I made the Autumn Wreath by purchasing an 18" grapevine wreath at Michael's and flower stems at Joann's. I had to go back and buy more stems, though, as I ended up needing six or seven (can't remember) stems to make the wreath nice and full. All I did was clip the plastic wire stems, leaving about a 3" stem, with wire cutters and shoving the stem in the wreath. I squished them together for fullness. I also bought one of those metal wreath hanger things to go over the door. Nice and easy...

This is a terrible shot, lighting-wise of the inside of the door. I painted it black using Lowe's Olympic One paint #1665 (860)502-1068 Tinter A. I'll try to get a better shot so you can really see the beautiful color. I dressed the window with a cream sheer curtain... so soft and pretty.
I've been doing a whole lot of updating, decorating and over-hauling. I'll be back with more pictures as I continue.

The Big Clean-Out

My refrigerator was a disaster. I didn't really notice until the other day. I opened the door and it hit me like a ton of bricks; it was flirting with unhealthy. I took everything off of one shelf, then another, and so on. I emptied out the whole thing, gave it a good scrubbing, threw lots of stuff out and wiped down the jars that were going back in. It's nice and clean now, kind of organized and a lot lighter. I can actually see what I have and don't have. It was a dirty, time consuming job but it was well worth the effort!
I have a couple room make-overs, too... been very busy painting and sprucing things up around here. Fall does that to me... I want everything neat and tidy before winter sets in... I'll be back with some progress.
